Assessment of performance
Training should be aimed to fulfill AITD/ NEFI fellowship objectives and focus on developing competence. The training expected to be conducted over two years .At the start of each year, an educational plan should be established in collaboration with the fellow, and progress should be tracked routinely utilizing the logbook
Fellows are expected to engage in all clinical activities as well as educational initiatives, which includes teaching other healthcare professionals. Involvement in audits and the possibility of either clinical or basic research is crucial for completing the training program.
As fellow progresses through their subspecialty training they will be expected to collect proof and Evidences that demonstrate their achievement and skills acquisition, Examples of types of evidence are given below, but this list is not exhaustive. Trainees and trainers can discuss and agree other sources of relevant evidence. It is very crucial that the quality of evidence is the ultimate goal not the quantity, every topic or skill can be documented by one or more of the suitable evidence methods and trainee must have three signed cases or procedure in each items of the training program documenting his/her independent competent practice.

- Regional and National teaching and training
- Conferences and courses attended
- Specialist clinics attendance
- Case presentations
All in addition to completing the Procedural and case log with required number of cases in each procedure and technique in a recognized center
Assessment must be done by AFREI faculty member and this may be also done through one of AITD courses and AITD approved courses and workshops in the selected domains
